Helak was formed by Şakir Kış and Onur Başkurt in late 2018. After releasing their first album in 2019, the band recorded their second album Heritor with Onur Meriç on vocals in 2020. Helak reached its current lineup with Cenk Turanlı on bass, and recorded their third album Gnosis in 2021. With a distinctive attitude, Helak interprets sludge and post metal elements with an experimental approach.
